Rovers delay Bannan move

Rovers delay Bannan move

Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has confirmed that the club have put on hold the proposed move to sign Barry Bannan, with rumours of agent greed playing a role in the transfer hold up.

Bannan is free to leave Villa Park, with Aston Villa accepting a bid in the region of £750,000 for their youth team product, but a deal has been difficult to reach with the player on personal terms, and as a result the move has been delayed.... although Bowyer has confirmed the club could come back to it.

"We had a bid and that was accepted, but we`ve not continued talks at this present moment in time," the Rovers boss told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"We`re exploring all options, there might be a chance it might happen, if not we have to be prepared for it not happening.

"We`ve just got to keep as many plates spinning at the moment as we possibly can.

"We have a massive list and we`re exploring all avenues at this moment but we are hopeful of bringing in certainly one or maybe two before the Derby game."

The opening game with Derby is less than a week away.
