Bowyer - No Norwich contact as yet

Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has stood firm on the potential sale of left back Martin Olsson after a report from his homeland of Sweden surfaced yesterday claiming a fee had been agreed.

Olsson has had a keen eye cast on him fron the likes of West Ham, Stoke and Norwich in the past and with the World Cup looming next summer the chance of a move to the Premier League is one the Swedish international wouldn't turn down.

But despite the fresh reports, Rovers boss Bowyer has stated he's unaware of any contact from Norwich at present and any bid to take the player away from Ewood Park would need to be substantial.

"He`s hoping to go to the World Cup with Sweden and he`s a valuable member of the squad, so it would certainly take a good offer," Bowyer told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"He`s been linked with clubs but until we get anything concrete we`ll have to see what happens.

"We`ve had no contact from Norwich as far as I`m aware. He`s not said anything to me about wanting to leave."

For what it's worth, the chance to move Olsson on may prove to hard to resist as the summer wears on - he'll fetch a decent fee, he's on high wages and the club needs to fall in line with FFP at some point.
