Rovers fans say bring in Stephane

Vital Blackburn's most recent Poll asked you "With a rocky defence who would you like to see given a chance in Central Defence?" Stephane Henchoz was your man!

Once Stephane Henchoz is fully match fit the majority would prefer to see the man who recently returned to Rovers in the team, he would pull in 51% of the votes ahead of the talented, yet inexperienced (although if he doesn't play he'll not gain experience, so an awkward scenario) youth product Eddie Nolan with 24%.

Aaron Mokoena, probably more accustomed, and arguably better suited to a defensive holding role would be the choice for 12%, with former captain Andy Todd being favoured for a recall by 9%. The totally out of favour Dominic Matteo collected 4% of the final vote.

Sadly, another youngster, Andy Taylor, although again highly talented failed to gain any of the votes at all. His 0% is probably more as a reflection of the fact that he is more familiar with a full-back role as opposed to one in the heart of the defence, although he can play there. If needed, I'd have no qualms with him performing as a full-back on either flank.

One clean sheet doesn't make a defence water tight, so people shouldn't get carried away off the back of the Middlesbrough game, Rovers were still carved open several times and but for better finishing, and on another day they would have conceded so the defence is still a worry until The Admiral returns from the looks of things, but maybe Henchoz could tighten it up?

So in summary
Andy Todd - 9%
Aaron Mokoena - 12%
Dominic Matteo - 4%
Stephane Henchoz (when match fit) - 51%
Andy Taylor (used mostly as a full-back) - 0%
Eddie Nolan - 24%

The current poll, with Stephane Henchoz being voted into the side is asking, "You voted Henchoz should come in, but who should he be paired with?"

Vote quick on this poll as it will only run until late Monday night, early Tuesday morning at the latest.

As for what you think, cast your vote, and why not have your say on the latest polls findings...

I think Henchoz will be used but with his lack of pace will it really be of anymore use than wot we have there already, Oojier is coming together now and although i think Zurab is a better full back i do believe he would be better than Henchoz, I can see why Henchoz was brought back in but he's not the answer, better giving Zurab and Oojier the chance to build up an understanding, as in centrebacks thats very important, as also is the front 2, these two poistions should not be chopped and changed when possible

It's true if it works then keep it, you don't change a winning formula unless you have to. The understanding between Zurab and Andre is getting there, and should only get better. One clean sheet doesn't make it right but Hughes will probably continue with the partnership for now and see how it goes. If it doesn't get there Henchoz will come in, but his lack of pace would be a worry no matter how good an understanding he'd have with whomever it may be.

i think henchoz will be good for us at the back him and ooijer will be a wall, a tough wall for strikers to get past

An old wall for players to get past! They'd do a job I'm sure.
