Rovers 'down to the bare bones'

Rovers injury problems are starting to mount with news that Colin Kazim-Richards could be facing a prolonged spell on the sidelines.

Kazim was withdrawn in the second half of the draw with Leeds at the weekend as a precaution but an intial scan has not been kind to the Turkish international.

This only adds to the mounting injury list that now includes Martin Olsson and Lee Williamson who are both out for over a month after picking up injuries in the last week.

And with Dickson Etuhu now not expected back this season it's not exactly party time for Michael Appleton and fans hopeful of a late play off push.

'We're down to the bare bones now in terms of numbers,' Rovers manager Michael Appleton told Sky Sports.

'We don't know the full extent (of Kazim-Richards' injury) yet. He is going for a scan this afternoon.

'The worry is that he could be out for up to two to three months. We hope he isn't, we hope it is a few weeks job, but even if it's that with all the massive games we have, it is going to be a massive blow.'

Problems, problems, problems.
