Bentley happy to be a Rover again

Rovers return boy David Bentley is pleased to be back at the club, after confirming his return back on loan before Saturday's shock FA Cup win over Arsenal.

The Spurs player, who left Rovers back in 2008 to try and launch himself into superstardom, has returned to the club where he made his name on loan until the end of the season.

But after several false dawns and a nosedive down the pecking order at White Hart Lane, Bentley has returned to more familiar ground in an attempt to re-establish himself... Something that the former England international sees the merit in.

Bentley told the Rovers official website - 'I'm really happy, back to a club I know and respect. It is good to be back.

'It is still the same staff, still the same familiar faces that make the football club tick over every day. They are the good people, the heart and soul of the football club, they are the ones that run it. We do the easy part, we just turn up and play football.

'It is good when you've got those good people about, it is nice to see them all again.'

And Bentley was pretty clear in his aims, which aren't quite as lofty as the first time around but will hopefully be mutually beneficial for both club and player.

'I'm here to play football, hopefully get promoted, and go as far as we can in the FA Cup,' said Bentley.

'It is a strong squad, Blackburn Rovers football club have spent a lot of money to put the squad together and I think we have the right management to make a success of it.

'I got a nice reception on Saturday against Arsenal, we've got Leeds United on Saturday so I'm really looking forward to my first game back here.'

Welcome back David.

Still feels very weird seeing him in a Rovers shirt again... but a few healthy performances will help revive things ;)
