Reports - Formica heading for Italy

Initial press reports in Italy are indicating that Rovers forward Mauro Formica, who has long been known to favour a move away from Ewood Park, will join Italian side Palermo on loan.

Formica has found it tough in East Lancashire and has privately admitted he has struggled to settle in England with the last two transfer windows seeing him linked with a return to his old side Newell's Old Boys, back in Argentina.

No official confirmation of his exit from the club has been forthcoming as yet but the man known as Gato seems certain to be on his way out of Rovers, with the European media adamant that his destination will be Palermo.

Will be sad to see him go but he has always struggled with the physical side of the English game. I wish him all the best.

I agree, talented footballer just didn't work out for him. No doubt he'll go and impress in Italy.
