Rovers get Appleton go ahead

Rovers are to have talks with potential new manager Michael Appleton tomorrow after being given approval by Blackpool to speak to their current boss.

Rovers had earlier this morning had an approach rejected by Blackpool but after talks in another corner of East Lancashire between the former Pompey boss and Tangerine chairman Karl Oyston.

The club (Derek Shaw and Paul Agnew) have again updated fans via the official website that talks are set for tomorrow and that clearance from India has been given.

Looks like he is on his way...

As a Pompey fan, I can confirm that Appy is not a good manager. He has tried hard to make a good playing squad in League 1 but didn't succeed at all, not to mention that we got relegated from the Championship with his incapability to come up with the right tactics for the game. You should have stuck with the man in charge! And for Appy to be on his way to the 3rd club in a season, half season, speaks about his commitment towards any of these clubs! He goes where is shown the money.

Christ, I'd rather give the job to Mike Bassett - at least he's got fake international experience.
