Henley signs new five year deal

Rovers right back Adam Henley has signed a new five year Rovers contract after an impressive run in the first team this season.

Henley, who is American by birth, started a handful of games last year under former boss Steve Kean, including the win at Manchester United and the draw with Liverpool, but has been an ever present under new manager Henning Berg.

After loaning Bradley Orr out to Ipswich the youth academy prospect has had a clear run at this more natural right side of defence spots and has arguably been one of Rovers most consistent performers of the last month.

The deal is aimed at tying down one of Blackburn's brightest prospects and the latest in a long line of first team academy graduates.

Especially with a few admiring glances coming from Premiership vultures...

Doesn't really matter if he has signed a five years contract or not. If he's any good, he will either have some hidden clause in his contract or we will just let him go anyway. seems to be the way we run things.

Cracking player, consistent and still has the hunger in him, will be great to see his progress with a run in the first team.

RT - I've no doubt that if he carries on the way he has been doing then he'll be picked off eventually. But this will financially protect ourselves at the very least.
