Am I for you? Asks Mr Robinson

Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson will ask the club for clarification over his Rovers future, with reports linking Brad Friedel with a return to Ewood Park refusing to go away.

Robinson's agent Rob Segal has stated that the former Spurs and Leeds stopper is happy to stay at Rovers, provided he has some assurances over his number one status.

Segal, told the Lancashire Telegraph - "Paul would be totally happy to stay, he is very happy at Blackburn, but at this stage of his career Paul wants to be playing football.

"If they want to bring in Brad Friedel that`s their prerogative, Henning Berg might want to bring his own players in. If he played with Brad I can sort of understand it.

"If they can sort something out with Tottenham then we`ll be on our way."

Robinson has been at Rovers for over four years after being bought in by Paul Ince (shudder) in 2008.

What would your preference be? The younger Robinson? Or a nostalgic blast with Brad's return?

Best scenario for me? Keep Robbo get Brad in to coach him and act as backup and maybe a cup keeper. Don't see Brad being happy with just being No. 2 though as thats why he wants to leave spurs! I just don't think getting rid of Robbo and replacing him with a 41 year old (no matter how much he defies his age) is a good idea.

Agree with Frans^ I think Friedel as number 2 player/coach would be best. Otherwise I'd keep Robinson to be honest. Friedel has this season and possibly next, Robinson has at least 4 seasons left in him.

As much as Robbo is a crowd pleaser, he cannot just be given the role as number one without consistently proving he is worthy and also maintaining his fitness and weight levels. the lad seems to be piling the weight on, maybe that`s why he isn`t as agile as he used to be.

Yet if it wasn't for him we'd have lost our record against the Dingles Rhodie!

Agreed Frans but Robbo isn`t as consistently good as he used to be. I like the guy but he can be frustrating a well. I don`t think Fridel could be No1 forever either. Maybe the thing to do would looking elsewhere.
