'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Berg disappointed once again

Rovers manager Henning Berg has admitted his surprise and disappointment after Rovers suffered their second straight home defeat... and the second in five days.

Rovers were turgid and laboured, allowing a Bolton side who barely got out of second gear to look like the Brazil side of 1970.

Berg told the official website - 'To start the game like we did was very, very surprising, I must admit. We're playing a local derby, we're playing against a team we played in the Premier League last season and we give them that much space.

'We have enough experience to know that when we start the way we do we give ourselves a mountain to climb and at the moment we're not good enough to get back into it.

But with a game against you know who on the horizon, the improvement has to be substantial and in double quick time.

'It can't be too difficult [to pick the players up], we're playing Burnley [in a derby on Sunday],' Berg said.

'Everybody knows what that means for everybody - the fans, players, staff - and if you can't pick yourself up for a game like that you shouldn't be in football.'

You wouldn't be so disappointed if you were to play someone up front with Rhodes, dropped Murphy and Etuhu, didn't play so defensively and actually attacked for more than the final 10 minutes of a game.
