Berg: It is fantastic to be here

New Rovers boss Henning Berg expresses his delight at returning to the club.

'It feels fantastic, I had a great time here as a player and fantastic memories, so to be back as manager here is a dream come true for me and I am really looking forward to this opportunity.'

'I have so many great memories of this place as a player and it was a great feeling driving into town again'

'I've spoken to the people inside the club, I know their ambitions, I know what they are planning. The owners have made very important steps to take the club forward once again.

Berg says that the only target this season has to be promotion, and the fans can help play a massive part in achieving this.

'We want to win promotion; that is our only ambition, it doesn't matter if it is directly or via the play-offs'

'I know Blackburn fans. They can lift the team, they are passionate.'

'I look forward to working with the club and the fans.'

Berg has also been impressed with the way Eric Black has got the team playing, and insists he wants to take that and build on it.

'I think the most important thing is to continue what we have started. We want to build on the results, keep being defensive but creative.'

'The backroom staff have done well, it would be foolish for me to come in here and start making changes before I know anyone personally,'

'I will assess how we will work together, to see if we have the same ideas. I'm looking to work with the people we have here.

Some impressive words from Henning here, lets hope he can deliver on them.

Berg was not at the top of my list. In fact he wasn't even on it. Now I have read a bit more about his time in Norway I think it could be a great appoitment. Only tme will tell but it can't be as bad as we have had. Lets support him and the team.

Of course he's going to be saying things that we like to hear but his mannerisms, determination in his voice and his hunger could make this a good appointment - if we give it a chance to breathe.
