Singh confirms Rovers appointment imminent

Rovers global advisor Shebby Singh has confirmed that Rovers an announcement over the new permanent Blackburn Rovers manager will be made later on today.

All the evidence and hype points towards it being former Rover and Norwegian manager Henning Berg who would become Rovers first ever non-British Isles manager.

There could be late interest and change of heart from elsewhere as you never really know with Venky's but it is highly likely that Henning Berg will be the new Rovers boss come the end of the day.

UK based Rovers fans will be in a difficult position to judge whether Berg will be any good but the Norwegian press and players rate Berg highly, something national team coach Egil Olsen was happy to lend a quote to.

'I think Henning would fit almost anywhere. He is an accomplished manager. He knows the society and the culture in England.

'I think it could work out well, it will be exciting to see,' Olsen told VG Nett.

One thing we can all safely say in unison is 'thank god this is coming to an end.'

The end of a very long road, I am not sure this should have taken as long as it has, we've faffed about for weeks making a song and dance over an appointment to seemingly make one that could have been wrapped up in a week or so. But that's not Berg's fault.

Tbh, I have nothing really against this appointment, but as you said Mikey, could have easily been done weeks ago.

When Sherwood was first mentioned, I thought 'we can do better than that' but not sure that we have now. Time will tell if Henning Berg can get us back up into the Premiership or if Bolton and Ipswich are more successful with their new managers. Meanwhile whatever we think, lets be positive (for a change!) get behind the appointment, welcome the new manager and support him to the hilt. Allow him to make the odd mistake or two without condemning him (until he has as bad a record as Keane) He wouldn't have been my first choice but WELCOME BACK HENNING, I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST.

Agreed, prob no ones first choice, but time to get behind him as could have been a lot worse. How it takes a month to end up with a manager who has been unemployed and available for a year is mind boggling, altho at this stage of Venkys reign maybe it isn't? Clearly we tried to get others and no one wanted job which had to be expected with the carry on of the Venkys since taking over.
