'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Finally, finally...

Get ready. This is pretty much the equivalent of the apocalypse.

After over a month of searching Blackburn Rovers are set to announce their new manager within the next day.

The interview process draws to a conclusion today after speaking to a shortlist of managers over the space of the last few days.

We are believed to be down to a final shortlist of three - Ian Holloway, Henning Berg and Harry Redknapp.

Harry is widely reported to be at Ewood today for talks over the position but is still rated as unlikely given his anticipated salary demands and transfer budget requests.

But Blackpool boss Holloway and currently unemployed former Rover Berg are also candidates even if Holloway may prove difficult to remove from his current role by the Seaside.

Reports linking Diego Maradona to the role are (well) wide of the mark and the likes of Simon Grayson and Karl Robinson have been removed from potential consideration.

Global Advisor Shebby Singh had previously announced on the Footballers Football Show that a manager would be in place come the middle of this week. And for a refreshing change we seem to be in a position to live up to our word.

But who will it be?

2 out of 3 ain't bad. If it's as LT suggests and Redknapp, Holloway and Berg on the list then I'd take the first two no problem.

Shame it's not Solskjær. Berg is a bit of a wild card. Did great with Lyn, with limited resources (they since went bankrupt) and was headhunted by Lillestrøm. Didn't do so well there, but the club was badly run, and they have not improved since he left. He did though get a good deal of criticism of his leadership style.

I'd just pay over the odds for Arry Redknapp, he's garenteed success if given funds, brilliant track record and man management also a great style of play! Well we all no this anyway, I don't no anything about berg so Holloway would be my 2nd choice by a country mile

If he was seriously interested I would have thought that Redknapp's demands could be met given there's no compensation to an existing club needed. Like everything at the moment it's all speculation. I'd not be too happy if it was Berg as I'd still go for an experienced man. So it'd be Holloway!

Please not Berg. Harry has said its not for him so I'd like Holloway a.s.a.p.
