McCarthy Grabs Blackburn August GOTM

By virtue of being the only Blackburn Rovers player to score in August, in fact the scorer of the solitary Rovers goal in that month Benni McCarthy is the winner of the inaugural Vital Blackburn Rovers Goal of the Month Award for August.

Every month I will give you, the readers a selection on six of the finest (hopefully at least that amount will be scored per month!) Rovers goals scored that month to vote on in the form of a poll. The player with the most votes obviously wins the Goal of the Month (GOTM) for that month.

I will produce an article to go with the polls launch refreshing the memory as to what the goal was like, including, if I can come across them visual links for the goals to be voted on (if I can't find any, and members find them please send me links) so if you need reminding what they were like you can view the goal before you vote.

So there you have it Vital Blackburn Rovers Goal of the month is launched!

Benni McCarthy wins the August Vital Blackburn Goal of the Month for his goal in 1-1 draw with Everton at Ewood Park on Wednesday 23rd August. Click here to see the goal

Let's hope that not only Benni gives us plenty of options for the September Vital Blackburn Rovers Goal of the Month. Should International goals count? If so Pedersen has surely won already with his strike against Hungary! I think it should be kept to Rovers goals, and not International goals, do we all agree?

Nice one! Hopefully the September one will be a harder one to call!

I hope so, if not then the club will have to start worrying.
