Hughes: We'll Bounce Back

Following the disappointing start to the season, in the respect that Blackburn Rovers are yet to win a game, Mark Hughes remains confident Rovers will soon start a climb up the table.

"We have not had the start that we anticipated, but having said that, we have played teams I feel are going to have good seasons."

"In the first three games, we have played Portsmouth and Everton and the champions," Hughes would say when speaking on Radio Five Live`s Sportsweek.

There is no denying the fact that Rovers were poor against Portsmouth in the opening game of the season, however one point from the following two games maybe isn't an entirely true reflection on what the club may have deserved. Hughes added:

"The Portsmouth game, we were disappointed with our showing, similar to our performance in the first game of the season last year when we went to West Ham and were beaten soundly."

"We did not play well against Portsmouth, but certainly got back on track against Everton, when we felt we should have won that game, and against Chelsea, I was pleased with the performance, if not the result."

Sheffield United on Saturday gives Rovers a very good chance to get the season back on track sooner rather than later, but when all is said and done there are still 35 games (including this match) to go. He would finish by saying:

"It is early days. We are not in the position we anticipated at this time of the season, but I am sure we will get back on track and start going up the league very, very quickly."
