Rovers are on the lookout for a new boss after a turbulent last week ended with the 'forced resignation' of hated manager Steve Kean.
The news came out at 8pm on Friday night that Kean had resigned/been pushed out of the door/played the victim for the 1,435,623th time and that Eric Black would take charge for the next day's game with Charlton.
Rovers fans were delighted but the club was a little bit shellshocked and in the circumstances a 1-1 draw at the Valley should be looked upon favourably.
But with that out of the way the search is on for a new man to take the helm.
A shortlist is thought to have been devised with many a name on including the likes of Tim Sherwood, Alan Shearer, Jurgen Klinsmann, Keith Hill and many more which will likely be weeded through in the next week or so.
It's a big call and one that the club has to get right.
It has come to light that current temporary manager and former Kean assistant Eric Black will be given a chance to impress (where have I heard this before?) and stake a claim, but the odds are on the club ultimately looking for someone a little bit more high profile to fill the slot.
Eric Black told the Lancashire Telegraph - "I haven`t even thought about it. I haven`t even reflected on it.
"I have been rather busy since 8pm last night.
"We will see what the owners decide. The games come fast and thick. I haven`t even thought about it, it has been a bit of a whirlwind.
"The owners will decide where the club goes and I am sure they will make the right decision."
Rovers have approached at least one manager with Spurs having knocked them back for the chance to talk to Tim Sherwood, currently assistant first team coach at White Hart Lane. It appears they would have their work cut out as well with Sherwood reportedly not keen on a move to Rovers.
Sherwood commented - "That`s all they are - just rumours. That`s all I know about it.
"I`ve got a great job where I am.
"There ain`t nothing to consider. It`s just speculation.
"I love what I do. I`m happy at the football club - it`s a great project."
It's going to be a busy period.
