Rovers and QPR agree Hoilett terms

Rovers and QPR have come to a settlement over the transfer of Junior Hoilett.

Hoilett left Rovers for the R's in the summer under the bosman ruling after letting his contract run down at the circus, err, I mean Ewood Park. But with Rovers playing a massive part in nurturing the talent of the young Canadian from the age of just 13 they were due compensation under the games laws.

There was fear it may have to go to a tribunal to settle but the clubs have agreed outside of mediation. The terms of what Rovers get are as follows...

- An initial £3m.
- An extra £1m based on appearances.
- A percentage of any sell on fee that Hoilett may accrue by leaving QPR in the future over and above what they have paid to Rovers themselves.

Glad that's sorted, now we can move on.

Not a great return on the investment made on the player over the years is it? Especially as once we could have easily doubled that!

So this confirms that we would have been better off accepting QPR's proposed offer including cash and Jamie Mackie...
Rye of the Rovers
Mackie was never offered and I think in Rhodes/CKR/Best we have equal/better options anyway. It's done now and we can forget about him. David Bentley MK. II. I predict him fading into the background.
