Bunn hands in transfer request

Rovers goalkeeper Mark Bunn has handed in a transfer request today in a bid to get first team football.

Bunn, who has been with Rovers since the Paul Ince days (shudder), is reportedly chasing first team action after finding it increasingly difficult to find a way past long term number one Paul Robinson.

Norwich City had a bid turned down for the talented shot stopper last week and despite not being able to offer Bunny first team action themselves with John Ruddy doing a fine job between the sticks it seems to have whet the Welsh keeper's appetite for a new challenge.

Shame to see this - a lot seem to be under the impression he's better than Robbo!

I'd have given him the shirt to be honest. When he's stood in for Robbo he's been first class and should have retained the shirt when Robbo returned i.e. Robbo should have had to fight to get it back not just be given it

On paper his record suggests he isn't as good as Robbo, but every time he's played for us he's been decent. IMO he deserves a crack in goal because Robbo is just too inconsistent to be guaranteed the no.1 jersey every week. Kean should never have dropped Bunn last season when Robbo returned, it showed how weak minded the man is as a manager.

for me i was on the fence with him and robbo, granted im gutted he's gunna be leaving cus he is top quality but robbo is officailly a rovers leg-end!

My view is the same as most of the above. My suggestion would be to see which clubs now come in for Bunn, then offer them Robinson instead. Shame that will never happen though.
