Rovers up Rhodes bid

Rovers have increased their Jordan Rhodes bid as they've hit Huddersfield with a third bid for their star striker.

Rhodes has been a wanted man at Ewood Park for the last few weeks but as yet Huddersfield have resisted the urge to grant Rhodes the chance to speak to Rovers - something the player is known to be keen on.

The latest bid is believed to be £6.5m with a substantial amount up front, as an added twist Rhodes was not included in Huddersfield's defeat to Cardiff last night - Simon Grayson says through injury, others suggest not.

The plot thickens.

This deal will be completed on Monday. Rhodes has consistently been in the press begging to play for Blackburn. Despite interest from Man Utd, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Everton and Fulham over the last 12 months, Rhodes has gone on record multiple times to confirm he has no interest in playing in the Premiership. It has always been his aim to bide his time and sign for one of the teams proven to be too poor to stay in the Premiership. Add to this the fact that Huddersfield are broke, are unable to sign any new players and have a Chairman who hates the club and has stolen what money they had. Rhodes considers Kean to be the best manager on the planet and really believes his game and his media skills will flourish under Kean. Rhodes has also been a long-standing fan of Shebby Chase from his punditry days on Star Sports, where Shebby even made Steve McMahon sound intelligence. Like I say, this deal will be completed on Monday

We didnt miss him last night...!!!

Not sure where these figures keep coming from, if you are to believe Huddersfield tweets the last "£6m" bid from us was actually £2.5m up front plus £3m add ons. Bit of a difference, and a bit pathetic, makes us look like unprofessional by dragging it out. Plus gives the cynics amongst us fuel to label this as another Ronaldinho bid. Again, if you believe the rumours, this latest bid is £5.2m plus £1m, a bit more like it but not sure it'll do it. Though, Rhodes' omission last night was interesting.

And another thing, though unrelated, just saw a comment on the LET from a rover saying 'we should do ok, we've kept hold of players and only lost Yak, Samba and Hoilett...' and I don't think this is more of Fingers' sarcasm!! SO, all we've lost is our top goalscorer, our most creative player (and most promising talent since Duff), and our commanding, highly sought after centre half? What were we worrying about?!
Citizen Kean
Our figures are correct. Huddersfield media are reporting derisory bids not our end. I'd hardly say Samba was our best defender or Hoilett was our most promising talent since Duff. Givet is better than Samba in my opinion and Hoilett is a lot of hype for not a lot. Phil Jones for example is much better. Only thing we'll miss is Yak, but then we have brought in Best, Gomes, Kaz and hopefully Rhodes so really not much of a loss there either..

Citizen Kean - The Huddersfield explorer has been fairly mischievous and tried to mock our bid in response to some borderline antics we've been trying to get Rhodes. The bid figures being reported by the LT etc are correct.

Weve just taken James Vaughan on loan from Norwich till the end of the season to play up front with Jordan Rhodes. The loan signing of James Vaughan today has to be seen as a definate statement of intent as regards our resolve to keep Jordan Rhodes at Huddersfield Town.
