Rovers To Miss Out On Gomaa?

With Rovers seemingly previously in pole position to land Egyptian Wael Gomaa, it appears that Mark Hughes could now miss out to Premiership rivals Newcastle United or Tottenham Hotspur.

Hughes has been an admirer of the 30-year-old Egyptian International for sometime, and a trial with Rovers was believed to be taking place this week ahead of a possible move before the transfer window closes on Thursday. But it has now been revealed he spent Tuesday with Newcastle, and will do the same today. Gomaa told FilGoal.com:

"I trained with Newcastle's first team and put on a good show."

Tottenham however are said to be keen, and Mido's return to White Hart Lane could tempt Gomaa to link up with him, with Mido said to be keen on his compatriot joining him in London. Whatever the outcome it is looking likely that Gomaa will be playing Premiership football in the near future, which as I've already been told is a dream of his.

No. He told EgyptianPlayers.com that he is increasingly away from BlackBurn. He said as well that he is about to join Black next January. NewCastle didn't show interest and the whole deal is said to be rejected. It is BlackBurn's turn now.
