Rovers bid for Rhodes rejected

Blackburn Rovers have seen their bid for Jordan Rhodes rejected.

It's been announced in the last half an hour that the bid has been turned down by Huddersfield despite a delay after it was first submitted on Friday.

It's not quite certain whether Rovers will move onto other targets or try with a second, improved bid. Stay tuned...

The big risk is do we go back with more?

Attempt one failed!

If they really want the guy then bid the money, don't just pussy foot around buying sub standard free/cheap options
Roverboy1967
I'd go back with a bigger bid. I'd pay 6m upfront and offer Slew or Blackman

I think offering some of our players is the only way forward as I really can't see Venky's coughing up a £7m+ fee, and I can't blame them really all things considered.
Rye_of_the_Rovers
Could never see Huddersfield accepting only £4m for the football leagues goal machine. Publicity stunt? Otherwise why would the bid have been made so public. Rovers must have known it was a below valuation offer yet they announce it was a final offer.

Looking a bit bleak at the moment but it wouldn't be the end of the world if we don't get him. would a great addition do, so fingers crossed xx

You robbed 2 players off us once before who helped get you into the top flight,a certain Simon Charlton, and Simon Ireland.Times have changed, and pulling a stunt like that wont happen again,we are the ones with the money this time around, and we are no longer a selling club.Dont blame you for trying, but i really think your wasting your time.

Hi Deano. Is that the Simon Charlton that left you to go to Southampton and the Simon Ireland that joined us in '93 when we were already flying high in the top flight? Thanks for the visit..!
StLedge
Out trivia-d,love it:-)bid put in sounds like a joke if its 2 mil up front only.Offer 4 up front followed by 2 and we shud hav him den!

Could have sworn they both went to the same club, never mind come to think of it your right.I can remember being at the Rovers cup game just before we lost them, think the score was 4 apiece in the end,no doubt ill be corrected here if im wrong.Great game and both players stood out on the day.Didnt you come from behind to get the draw StLedge, anyway it was a great game.Hope this seasons league fixture is just as good, although the way we played at Preston on Monday isnt exactly inspiring.
