Rovers part owner Venkatesh Rao has hailed the appointment of Shebby Singh and feels the move signals a fresh dawn for Rovers as a club and a possible improvement in the (so far) woeful communication between the hierarchy and the lifeblood of the club.
Singh was appointed last month as a 'Global Advisor' to Rovers and it is understood his role is to essentially run Rovers from Blackburn and liaise between club and owners as well as interact with stakeholders at the club.
It is yet to be seen the level of power Singh has been granted with the ultimate decisions still likely to be made from the secret witch lair hideaway location of India but some of the more critical members of the Rovers fan base such as members of the BRFC Action Group and Wayne Wild have admitted to being initially impressed by the refreshing honesty and charm offensive of Shebby since his appointment.
Plenty of a way to go obviously but Rao is positive this will bring about positive change.
Rao told Sky Sports with regards to the fans - "Unless they are happy, we are not happy, the day they are happy, we are happy.
"We are trying to bring all of the changes, whether it is players or management (note to Mr.Rao - bald chap, Scottish, feel free to remove as and when), at the end of the day the fans will look at the results.
"Now he (Singh) is here to talk to the fans, build relations, tackle the local problems day to day and see that they are satisfied. He is right there at the ground level and that`s what he`s doing now - not only talking to fans but also talking to players, talking to other management.
"I think overall it`s a very good move and you will see the fruits."
Let's hope so, the problem is that all this impressive talk has yet to translate to actual action of anything bordering on the same quality.
