Adrien ready to make a call

I remember a time before the Adrien Silva transfer saga. I'm not sure if you will but I assure you they were better times... People smiled, drinks were sold at a competitive rate and certainty ran through the community like wildfire.

But for the last few weeks since his name came on the radar it has been a very boring 'will he/won't he' back and forth tug of war between player, agent and the clubs involved.

Over in Portugal Sporting Lisbon are confident he will be signing a new deal with them where as in Blackburn the bigwigs have always maintained that they are sure he is on his way to Ewood Park. Something just doesn't fit.

Fortunately we are set to get an answer either way this week with Rovers making efforts to speed up the deal (yes, Venky's and speed up in the same sentence) or facing the prospect of leaving the idea of bringing the player in and chasing other targets.

The clubs have been in dialogue over a fee but as yet there has been no agreement over the player, on the Sporting side they have made the decision that they would like to keep him despite thinking quite the opposite a few months back but if they get an indication from the player that he wants out it is unlikely they would stand in his way.

It's delicately poised, but luckily we're going to find out answer as to where the talented midfielder's future lies soon by all accounts.
