Best joins the Rovers

Rovers have this evening confirmed the signing of Newcastle striker Leon Best.

In what looks a mutually beneficial deal for all three parties involved, the tall striker has moved on a four year deal and for a fee of £3 million and rising (not by the hour).

Best did have options available to him in the Premier League but none firmed up any pursuit and he has been persuaded to join the now Championship Rovers and become our second summer signing after the capture of Danny Murphy.

Leon has also been given the number 9 shirt which should go some way to showing fans what role he will be playing at the club.

And as long as he is nowhere near as bad as Anthony Modeste I am sure he will get on just fine.

Welcome to Ewood Leon.

Nice to have this one wrapped up, has been a long road persuading him by all accounts!

Welcome to Rovers. Glad we landed Best, I think he will do well for us.

Great signing, £3m with add ons does seem a little steep IMO, but hopefully he'll be worth every penny on the pitch.

Good signing IMO, welcome to the mighty Ewood Mr Best

I'm trying to remain positive - but, £3mill is a lot, he's not the best striker - but could do well as te Yak did. I hope we get another striker in and we need some defenders.

im not against this signing, but does anyone else think that 3 million last season could of saved us? has it been a case of Kean and Venkys were just naive? with a mixture of the team just not being good enough? lets hope next season we do well, get back up. im not a fan myself but we need to get behind the team since we know the owners and manager are going nowhere.
