Agnew appointed General Manager of Rovers

Paul Agnew has today been appointed the General Manager of Blackburn Rovers.

Agnew (a known Kean ally) was rumoured to have been appointed the new Director of Communications at the club after his work with his PR firm at Rovers curried favour with Venky's.

But rather than a move up the ladder in the communication department Agnew will now have responsibility in all areas of Rovers, apparently taking on some of the tasks left vacated by Paul Hunt after his sacking a few weeks back.

Rather astonishing given he was hardly a resounding success in his old role. But confirmation has just filtered in this afternoon that Agnew has more power at Ewood Park.

A sign that the 'confusion' Venky's were feeling a few weeks back has gone? Or a sign that Kean is going nowhere?

Maybe even both?

Certainly a sign that Venky's aren't selling up...

Did things just get worse??

What a complete disgrace. Another numpty promoted with no good reason to do so other than to save brass and to fill the place with "yes" men. I'm sick of this shambolic set of owners and management

Unbelievable...

Things just got worse. Kean now has a friend on the board. He will support Kean and not call for his sacking like Paul Hunt did. Prepare for another relegation battle.

I don't even know what to say anymore. I live in America and when I tell people stories about what's going on in Blackburn, they don't believe me.

Better start planning for life in League 1. Looks like the only areas of the ground needed this season will be the upper tiers of the Darwen and Blackburn end

I've always said i'll buy a season ticket every year no matter what and am generally as loyal as you can be but even i'm questioning that decision now.....

Every day that passes with no one at the mast head directing the club, not communicating in realistic terms with players, fans and staff and not producing tickets for the coming season is a day nearer the disappearance of one of the football leagues primary founders. All that's happening is forum debates, meetings and speculation. I am not saying that that does no good but we are getting one step nearer the grave. I don't know how, but the time has come before it's too late for CUSTER'S LAST STAND. We are drowning in quicksand!!!! Something drastic MUST happen before loss of oxygen carries out its last action.

I guess the editors are totally disheartened by events. With good reason, too.
