'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Morten pledges commitment

Rovers midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen has given the fans something of a timely boost with news that he intends to see out his current contract with Blackburn Rovers.

Pedersen has been at Rovers since 2004 and seeing the remainder of his contract out would see him pass the 10 year mark at Ewood Park.

And with Rovers now in the Championship and with a fair few senior players looking to jump ship it is heart warming to see at least one player coming forward with a pledge to Blackburn.

Morten stated on his blog Gamst.co.uk - 'As a football player the relegation was the worst thing that has ever happened to me, as a Blackburn fan, it was devastating, it was cruel and I can not describe the feeling I had when the relegation was clear and the season was over.'

'There have been some speculation and questions from the media and here on the blog about my future, my respond to that is that I have a contract with Blackburn Rovers, and I intend to honour that.'

Morten has been badly out of form, especially towards the end of the season but you have to admire his commitment, we don't have a lot of these players left given the joke administration running our club.

Plenty of mixed feelings about Morten I am sure but a top pro and always welcome at Ewood Park.

should really be good in the championship if offered some physical protection. And maybe be the star name on the team sheet again will be a confidence boost.

Still can't see Venkys paying his wages in the championship. West Ham bound i would say.

I'm sorry, but I think he will struggle even in the Championship. Great guy but I would sooner get him off the payroll the way things stand. He has 'zero pace' and in the last game I saw him against Wigan it was the poorest i've ever seen him, he looked like he couldn't even do the basics, it was embarrassing. Been way past his best for years and currently pinching a living IMO.
