Andre Ooijer Finally Signs

The transfer of Andre Ooijer to Ewood Park has finally been complete.

The undisclosed fee, thought to be in the region of £2million was agreed on Tuesday, with Ooijer today successfully coming through his medical and agreeing term on a two-year contract, with the option of a third.

Ooijer, who will be presented to the Ewood crowd tonight, when speaking to Rovers World said:

'I'm very happy to be here, I'm looking forward to playing, to see the stadium and everything,'

'I wanted to move on and further my career and I think it is a good step for me to be here.'

The defender, who can play at right back or in central defence has won 20 International caps with the Netherlands also said:

'When I club like Blackburn comes in for you, it was a simple choice for me, I heard a lot from other players that Blackburn was a warm club, it sounded like my former club PSV.'

'I spoke to Ruud Van Nistelrooy and he was very positive and I'm really looking forward to begin.'

Ooijer should be available for the visit to Ewood Park of the Champions Chelsea on Sunday.

I glad to see that Blackburn can attract international players, even he is 32 he is still a very good signing for the club, sends out a good message, though I would like to see Hughes sign another central midfielder, as I think the team is short there.

HE'S A TOP SIGNING, AT 32 HE SHOULD BE IN HIS PRIME, WITH PLENTY OF EXPERIENCE BEHIND HIM.
