'If It's Football, It's Vital'

D-Day for Blackburn Rovers

Over the course of the last season I have been well known on this website and others for coming out with long articles and rants about the state of affairs at Blackburn Rovers Football Club.

We have all read the rubbish that comes out of Steve Kean's lips, and Venkys occasional statements via obscure cousins who sit on the board at Blackburn Rovers, or comments via Steve Kean in the National Press after his conference calls to India or his monthly trip.

We all as fans sit shaking our heads in disbelief at just how much our manager has been allowed to get away with and how much unjustifyable support he has gained from a group of owners who know nothing about football.

'Just another defeat surely and then he will get the sack' turned to utter resignation for the most fans that relegation was destiny for this club over the 2011/12 season.

Well just a matter of hours away and relegation seems a certainty regardless of Steve Kean's denial.

The very fabric and heart of our club been ripped out by people who promised to protect the clubs interests. Lies... Just lies... Nothing more and nothing less.

From the outside, football fans have taken a varied opinion to the goings on at our club. Let's face it, in a day and age where we live in a very selfish money orientated society, a society where what is said on tv is taken as gospel truth, it takes a very special type of 'true football fan' to take notice of what is going on elsewhere away from his/her own club.

I do not expect our plight to be taken anymore seriously then other clubs that have experienced difficulties before us. We don't deserve anymore or less then these clubs.

But as a lifelong Blackburn Rovers fan. Somebody out there, even if it is just 1 person reading this article should take notice of the utter disgrace that has befallen our once proud club.

Week apon week in the past, even under poor managers, we knew that the right decision would be taken by people who love the club.

This factor has long gone now. Blackburn Rovers fans are forced to watch as selfish people with selfish desires rip the club to pieces.

A once proud English institution now divided, imported and managed by a criminal, and a group of cowards.

As i tie up this short article with what little energy i have left. I ask you, as a football fan, to put yourselves in our position.

- Your club gets taken over

- Promises are made and broken

- You don't have huge wishes and desires, you just want your club to be well

- When you call out for help, your hand is slapped back in return by the very people who promised to take care of your club as a condition during the takeover

- Nothing else works so you contact the media in a attempt to have your story told. Only to be declared the problem by the media and have the person destroying your club praised for his 'attitude and hard work'

- You sit there day after day watching your club lose game after game until relegation rears it's ugly face.

We are Blackburn Rovers fans.

We live in this climate.

There is nothing we can do.

So if you really love football, even if you are not a Blackburn Rovers fan. Speak out now.

After all. Next week it might be your club. It might end up being your club nobody wants to help.

If you don't take this seriously. Let me leave you with some quotes from our manager Steve Kean:

18/11/2011: "We won't get relegated, absolutely no chance,"

05/05/2012: "If we're relegated I still expect to be here."

As a villa fan I sympathise totally with your plight. Both villa and Blackburn suffer two things; clueless owners, and inept managers. On this occasion we were luckier than you, but we will follow down next season for sure unless things change at villa park. Frustrating and sad times.
Stig
.... Oh and likewise, nothing more frustrating for us as well to hear the media slagging off the villa fans and praising Mcleish. Absolute cretins, to busy with their heads stuck up fergie's, and the complete idiot dalgleishes arse.
Stig
Stig, I have Villa mates and understand your comparison, but what's gone on at BRFC is on a whole different level. Let's just say that my football loyalties mean that I've been observing all this with bemused amusement, but I'm not here to gloat. The editorial above seems a fair summary of the situation. Alarm bells rang for me when the Walker Trust felt it necessary to insert conditions into the sale regarding Jack Walker's statue and the name of the Jack Walker Stand - this said to me that the trust smelled a rat. I got the impression that they simply wanted to sell the club ASAP, and that Venkys would do even though the trust were suspicious of them. The constant stream of pundits criticising the fans, defending Kean, and talking of minorities of fans* seemed like ignorance at first, but I cannot believe that these things are still said with any sincerity. Saying that though (about national pundits), I was stunned to hear what Colin Hendry said yesterday - surely he's more clued up on BRFC than the MOTD claptrappers? For Scudamore to say that Venky's have followed the rules is shocking - when the season's over, the FA/Premier League need to set up an inquiry into what's gone on, I can't believe that there's no suspicion that rules regarding agents have been broken; the involvement of Jerome Anderson and Kentaro in this fiasco surely needs investigation? I can't believe that the owners are still regarded as fit and proper. *Anyone claiming that discontent has been restricted to a minority has clearly never read the comments in the LET or listened to Radio Lancashire; they've also been blind to concerns raised by Jack Straw (former Home Secretary & Foreign Secretary), the local council, and a stream of local dignitaries.

Truly sorry lads, great community on vital Blackburn, classy guys, hope you get rid of your shocking manager and owners and bounce back. All the best.
The Fear
Commiserations on a ***** night guys. I guess for every ADUG there has to be a Venkys, feel for you that you were the ones lumbered with them.
