Latest Blackburn Rovers News

Nothing wrong with trying to find the light hearted aspects of Blackburn Rovers life at this difficult time and some have managed to do just that with an inspired bit of fan unity.

With relegation potentially looming and the club in the hands of ruthless cost cutters a small group of fans have embraced popular club player Gael Givet and his recent troubles to form a tribute.

Fans are growing their 'Givet Beards For Survival' in an attempt to spur the side on and create banter between fans.

The effort has been going on for little under a week now and has reached the point where it has even come to the attention of more prominent media outlets such as the BBC and local paper Lancashire Telegraph (page 15 in today's offering by the way).

Some of the beards rustled up at short notice have been excellent and the effort has even been endorsed by the man himself who was spotted holding up a sign at the Player Awards on Monday evening.

Not bad for a bit of a joke started on twitter.

Irish Eyes Are Smiling

Blackburn`s game against Doncaster had already been called off. If it hadn`t, it definitely would with the Republic of Ireland`s decision to include two defenders in the final squad.

No Tippy-Tappy Performer

Bradley Dack has proven plenty of ability on the ball and has a keen eye for a goal, but the former Gillingham man has also show he's physically able and willing to get stuck in.

Modest Marksman

You'll not find many who haven't been impressed by Armstrong since he came to Blackburn. The on-loan Newcastle forwards goalscoring exploits speak for themselves.

Different Date Same Outcome

International call ups for Leutwiler, Mulgrew and Evans, along with provisional calls for Lenihan and Williams mean the trip to Doncaster has changed, the hoped outcome wouldn't.
