Agathe Trying His Luck With Villa

Didier Agathe, a former triallist at Ewood Park is now attempting to win a contract under former Celtic boss Martin O'Neill at Aston Villa.

Agathe, who will train with Villa for a few days, was unable to impress Mark Hughes sufficiently during his spell with Rovers in July. After potential moves to Middlesbrough and Leeds United failed to materialise in the January transfer window the 31-year-old was realised by Celtic in February, since then he has been unattached.

A number of trials, firstly with Italian giants Roma, Premiership club Middlesbrough before his brief stay at Ewood would follow for the Frenchman. Since his release by Hughes he's linked up with Torino, but again nothing was offered to him. In the last few days he appeared to be heading for Sunderland, but now has the chance to play for the man whom he played under for five years at Celtic Park.
