Givet scotches refused to play rumours

Rovers defender Gael Givet has issued a statement to the fans of Blackburn Rovers stating that at no point did he refuse to play for the club.

Givet was a glaring omission from an injury hit side for Saturday's defeat to Swansea (sorry for making you think of that again), and newspaper reports suggested that it was the player who refuse to don the shirt.

But Givet has called bullshit and has insisted it was Steve Kean who picked the team and made the call after a chat with Gael a few days prior to the match.

Gael clarified in a statement - 'I wish to make it clear that I have never refused to play for Blackburn Rovers.'

'It was the manager Steve Kean who decided which players would be selected.'

There has even been suggestions made from Gael and his agent that he would be willing to play for Rovers if they are relegated to the Championship.

Which would be something of a bonus to say the least.

Personally I never thought Givet refused to play for us, he doesn't seem the type to be that unprofessional... cough Samba cough.

I hope Givet bitch slaps Kean back to Scotland before the season is done!

Good on you Givet.. hope to see him in a Rovers shirt soon.. although will Kean play him again????
Wiggle150
i highly doubt it Wiggle, Givet is the first player to speak out publicly about Kean's selection policy whilst still at the club and if rumours were true that he had a row with the manager i highly doubt we will see Givet in a blue and white shirt again unless Hanley's injury is worst than feared and he is out for a few games. whats the alternative Myles Anderson??

50/50 on whether we see Givet again. Normally I'd say no chance, but we're that desperate that even Kean might just realise we could do with him on the pitch. Still, if he doesn't pick him then maybe we'll all get to see just how fantastic Anderson Jr is!
