Givet heading for the exit door

Rovers could be facing a future without Gael Givet after the defender revealed he is considering moving on.

Givet has been left out of the side ever since a suspension and injury picked up after the 7-1 drubbing at Arsenal and his absence has been something of a mystery, even provoking suggestions of the dreaded contractual issues (which isn't the case this time).

The Daily Mail and Lancashire Telegraph are both reporting that Givet has told his agent and friends that he will consider a move elsewhere with France appearing a likely option.

It probably doesn't help that there seems to be no logical explanation why the nervous wreck that is Scott Dann continues to get in the side ahead of the Bearded Warrior.

Kean even shed some light on Venky's recent visit to Ewood complete with Balaji Rao comical hair cut.

He told the Lancs Telegraph - "We had a board meeting that had been scheduled for three months. What we've always felt is that it was right to wait and get the points sorted out.

"Then we can decide who's going to be coming in and who's going out. We need to concentrate on the remaining games and getting the points required.

"Then, at the end of the season, we can sit down and have discussions about budgets, who we can bring in and who will be going out."

If Givet does go, it will be a shame as he is a hugely popular player with the Rovers faithful.

Allez! Allez!

Always gives his best and shows a lot of passion on the pitch. A warrior who we need right now...Someone will be picking up a bargain if he leaves!

Would be gutted if he went - EVERYONE likes Gael Givet!
