United title win would bag Rovers a cool £2m

United title win would bag Rovers a cool £2m

Rovers stand to profit to the tune of £2 million if Manchester United claim their 20th league crown.

One of the clauses in the sale of Phil Jones to United in the summer is that Rovers would receive £2 million if Jones helps United win the Premier League title and as things stand that does look a distinct possibility.

Rovers are already pocketing £100,000 per Jones international appearance on top of the £16.5 million transfer fee that it took to take Jones over to the 'Theatre of Dreams' (Still the most arrogant name for a stadium I'm aware of.)

The two sides meet head to head tonight in a massive clash for fortunes at both ends of the table and Jones should be in opposition for the contest with Rovers looking to bounce back from a very poor showing at Bolton last time out.

Even if we do get this end pay off I am not suggesting in the slightest that we'd throw the game, we're only allowed to do that once a season and we used our go at Cardiff in the League Cup...

Somene quickly tell Venkys the money that we would lose out on if we were relegated. They are probably drooling at the prospect of another £2million!
