Bolton confirm Rovers game to go ahead

Bolton have confirmed that the relegation clash between Bolton and Rovers WILL go ahead as planned on Saturday after the Wanderers confirmed they want to crack on as normal with their fixture schedule.

There were some major doubts over the game's original date in light of the Fabrice Muamba situation but after a consultation with Fabrice's family and the players Bolton have decided to keep to the original scheduled Saturday date.

Bolton manager Owen Coyle told Bolton's official site - 'We spoke together with the players as a group this morning and I talked with Fabrice's family last night.

'Fabrice's father Marcel and his fiancée Shauna were keen that we fulfil our fixtures. Once the players knew this, there was no doubt in our minds that we would play the matches.'

Saturday 24th March it is then.

Good to see and fair play to Bolton for taking time to consider the situation.

Great news probably wouldnt have been able to make it otherwise. Hopefully will be a good game in respect to Fabrice.

I don't know if i am happy about this or not. we are in good form, but the whole footballing world (Apart from Rovers fans) wants Bolton to win this one. Can olny see a defeat here.

After last night's QPR v Liverpool game the weekend match has become a must not lose fixture. I would put us in current form as mild favourites but in light of recent events it will be a cracking contest...
