Samba set for Russia move

The Chris Samba saga appears to be drawing to a close with news coming out last night that the want away defender all set for a somewhat surprising move to billionaire backed Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.

Samba has been throwing hissy fit after strop at Rovers in order to get a move away from the club but was unsuccessful in securing a transfer in the English transfer window back in January.

But with the Russian transfer window still open a move is on the cards and Anzhi themselves can without doubt stump up the cash who recently appointed Gus Hiddink as their new manager.

Fees bandied about are reported to be £7.5 million but expect that to rise to nearly £12 million with add ons.

It now seems like it is just a race against time to get the deal done with Chris Samba looking likely to get his 'divorce' from Rovers owners Venky's.

Not quite the big move he was after but he'll certainly get some cash.

I never thought I'd see Samba end up here, but if he can beat the Russian deadline then he'll be off.

He'll be off..........and so will we. I don't get our transfer business at all. Seems like we are actually preparing for life in the championship.

Hold out for big wedge with this lot anyway, I wouldn't take a sniff less than £12m if we're selling. Which we probably shouldn't.
