2006/2007 Squad Numbers Revealed

The Rovers player squad numbers have finally been revealed for the new season. It's a time everyone looks forward to seeing who gets a previous players shirt number or what youngsters are beginning their rise into the first team squad.

There isn`t a great deal of change really, but with Lucas Neill retaining his #2 shirt, and Brett Emerton his #7 if anything can be read into this it would appear that Mark Hughes is standing firm with his decision not to allow these players to leave during the current transfer window, even if it means they can arrange deals in January and walk away for nothing next summer.

Irish youngster Keith Treacy, called up this for the Northern Ireland U19's this week receives a squad number for the first time, being handed the #29. New arrival Benni McCarthy is handed the #10, others, Roberts his favourite #30, Francis Jeffers #17 and Jason Brown #23.

One name change this season will see Morten Gamst Pedersen now wearing Gamst as opposed to Pedersen. During the summer he requested permission from the Premier League, which was granted to display Gamst, his mother`s maiden name.
