'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Roberts Wants The Champions League

In the most recent Vital Blackburn Poll a combined 23% felt that Rovers could end this season qualifying for the Champions League, Jason Roberts for one also wants this. Although not wanting to put too much pressure on the club he sets his sights high and would like to see this happen.

The 28-year-old Grenadian International, recently signed from Wigan Athletic would like the club to continue moving forward as it has undoubtedly done so under current boss Mark Hughes. Roberts would say.

"I don't want to set any targets but we want to progress as a football club and I want to progress as a footballer,"

The challenge of stepping up this extra level and qualifying for the Champions League will be a tough one, but one that Roberts could see happening and one that the club should be aiming for. He would add.

"If the Champions League is the next step for us, that is something we must aim for."

As Roberts himself would also say, only time will tell what will happen. But following a good pre-season from Roberts, in which his partnership with Benni McCarthy is looking very useful, with the nucleus of last season`s squad intact, and with hopefully a few more additions anything is possible.

Champions League will surely be a bit of a push? Europe via Uefa might well be achievable though?
The Fear
I THINK MOST WOULD ACCEPT UEFA CUP FOOTBALL AGAIN IN 2007/2008, BUT GOOD RESULTS AGAINST THE OTHER TOP 6 CLUBS, AND POINTS PICKED UP AGAINST THOSE THAT ROVERS SHOULD AND YOU NEVER KNOW?

Blackburn need to add a creative mildfielder, then you never know, it was a close thing last year to 4th so just need one of the Top4, like Arsenal last yr to have a bad run of results.

to be tottally honest as a fan of another club looking on yrs, you have built up a strong squad of players that are going to acheave this season, weather or not you belive it i can see you finishing in the uefa cup places, and safley at that, you are going to have a good season this year and uefa cup it where you headed to
Walcott
WE'VE QUIETLY GONE ABOUT OUR BUSINESS HAVEN'T WE, SO WE HAVE A GOOD CHANCE OF SURPRISING SOME THIS SEASON. WHEN OPPOSING FANS LOOK UP AND SAY YOUR GOING PLACES THE CLUB MUST BE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT. I SEE YOUNG WALCOTT SCORED ON HIS ENGLAND U21 DEBUT TONIGHT, AFTER ONLY 3 MINUTES AS WELL WASN'T IT?
