Sutter set for Rovers

Rovers are set to seal the signing of Young Boys right back Scott Sutter.

Sutter has been given permission to leave his current side to negotiate terms with Blackburn and seal a move back to England, where he is originally from.

There will be no fee involve but it is yet to be confirmed whether the transfer will be a loan or a freebie as Young Boys are claiming one thing and Sutter's representatives are claiming the other.

One thing is for certain it is exactly the sort of transfers Rovers require at present in that it is very low cost.

Sutter himself is a right back who has been frozen out at his current club in Switzerland but impressed during last year's Champions League games with Spurs and is a dedicated full back, something Rovers do lack on the right hand side of the pitch.

The transfer looks to be very straightforward and no hiccups are expected so he should be a Rovers player by the end of the week.

Fair play to the Rovers back room, they've done a good job keeping this quiet up to this stage.

For those of you who don't know who this kid is, trust me, he is very under-rated. Some of you may remember him from the Champions League campaign, where Young Boys were in the same group as Spurs. He will be a very good signing, and at 23 he has huge potential and fits in well with the young squad we currently have.

heard someone say that he has just 6 more months left in his contract. in that case, YB would get nothing out of a loan. They surely dont have to pay his wages if this goes through. They might as well make this a free move and move on ..........

Ben. Scott Sutter is 25 not 23.

'the calm thinker' who said Young Boys want him to leave on a free. From what i have heard they are in a similar position to us with Hoilett. Hoilett not willing to sign a new deal... They will want some money for him... Sutter wants to return to the country of his birth.

This move makes perfect sense, even if there is a fee involved i would expect it would be very minimal, like 200k or something so cheap and cheerful. The Big question is how will he ever get in the team ahead of Bruno Ribeiro???!!! ;-)

Seems a decent shout to me.
