Roberts set for Reading

Breaking news and it comes in the form of a player heading out.

Jason Roberts is reported to be having a medical at Championship side Reading ahead of sealing a move away from Ewood Park.

Word is that it will be a loan switch with a view to a permanent switch in the summer but no official clarification as yet.

It is no secret that Roberts is surplus to requirements at Blackburn having been told he wouldn't be played as Rovers couldn't afford the bonuses payable as match bonuses in the terms of his contract.

A move away has looked likely all January and it seems Roberts will get his wish of regular football with Reading.

Best of luck Jason, it's not always been an easy ride between the fans and you - but the effort and dedication has never been in doubt.

Thank you for the dignity you've shown throughout the difficult situation you've found yourself in the last few months as well.

Great time for him to move and on a personal level really pleased he is moving for his own sake.

Nice little Vital exclusive Mikey!

a good move for everybody involved imo - rovers can spend his wages on scott sutter , a right back being a vital spot getting filled in this window. Roberts gets more playing time and more importantly, a rather accommodating crowd there ? And the Championship crowd getting a player who is dedicated and ready to put in his shifts without moaning. Good Luck to him.

All the best JBob...i'll never forget the only game you played well for us, against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi's when were unlucky not to win.

despite not always the best on the pitch, he hasn't done much wrong off the pitch, especially during turbulent times at rovers. wish him the best.

Good deal all round. Pleased for him as he'll get to play first team for a while now and we've shifted a major wage off the bill. While I've had a real up and down time with him I have real respect for him as he is a model pro in many ways. Best of luck at Reading.
