'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Got any more funny jokes Neil?

Rovers are bracing themselves for a busy window and one of the top priorities will be hanging onto star defender Chris Samba.

Samba is again likely to be subject of interest for roughly the 8th transfer window in a row from the vultures circling.

First up who HAVE registered an interest are QPR who are now backed by owner Tony Fernandes, who actually wants to invest in the side... yes it does happen Venky's.

But the first opening bid is likely to raise a chuckle as it stands at £6 million.

That's £6 million. For a man who has four years left on his current deal, who has other clubs of a higher profile wanting him and is without doubt Rovers star player.

The Daily Mail is reporting - 'QPR want to test the water with a bid of around £6m. However, that will be rebuffed as Blackburn want around £10m.'

Cheeky stuff.

£6m??? i know the guy owns Air Asia but there's nothing low cost in Samba's case

So let the bidding commence.....!

Rovers need to make a statement that none of our first team players are for sale. We need to add players not sell any. I believe that if we lose Samba or Hoilett we are as good as relegated. We need to keep these players to stand any chance of surviving and add more to the squad - even if that means losing Junior for nothing in the summer - a small price to pay for survival.

That would be good FN1 but do you trust them to make one that doesn't use their usual "jargon" or "get out" words.

£6m? Having a laugh... We're in a strong position given that Samba has four years on his deal, but I have this horrible feeling that somehow the club won't let that get in the way of screwing up yet again.

20 mil,any less than that and it cant be justified. Before Cahill's contract started winding down that was the price he was rated at,and Samba is fast proving as good if not better than him and most other centre backs in this bracket. One of the few world class players we still have.I'd still prefer to have him though than 20 million. If we want any chance of staying up then Samba must stay.

"Blackburn want around 10m" is not the same as "not for sale" is it.

If we sell Samba for less than £ 20m, then the owners have no ambitions for our club whatsoever. No player of Samba caliber would consider playing for a joke like us, so he will be impossible to replace..

Not worried when qpr come calling, it's when Harry picks up the phone. Now that Gallas is injured, i can see them making a move. They have a real chance to push on for 3rd place in the league and reclaim a CL spot. They need strength in depth.

£10m at a minimum but i really hope he isn't sold. If we wanted or needed to sell him it would have been better for us to do it in the summer so we could get adecent replacement in.
