Kean claims Rovers financial calm

Steve Kean has claimed that he has been told nothing by Venky's about having to sell players in order to recruit new faces.

Despite pretty much every source claiming Rovers need to sell players to a) generate new funds and b) appease Barclays bank Kean is adamant that all is well at the Blackburn hotel and that his sole focus will be on trying to recruit and add to what already exists.

Kean told the Lancashire Telegraph - "I have been told nothing about selling. We are only going to try to add. I have said before we are going to keep the basis of the squad together and add to that and that is the way we will hopefully approach this window."

I probably wouldn't have used the word 'hopefully' at the end there Steve. Pedantic I know.

Believe it when(if) you see it folks...

Perhaps it is a case of Steve not being told my Venkys? And now being used as a scapegoat

If this does turn out to be the case then happy days... but to say there are extreme reservations over Kean's truth telling ability would be an understatement.

I reckon Hoillet will go then if we get even worse samba will leave in the summer
Marcus:)
Hoillett might as well go if he isnt going to sign for the club. No loyalty? Out the door... However any other departures should be seriously considered in light of current squad fitness and league position. We do need players but January doesnt bring up many bargains. Venkys appear (according to Glen's postings) to have found a way to minimise their exposure even upon relegation. So my thoughts are that this bus will go over the cliff edge unless someone comes long and incentivises them to jump early - ie a small premium to sell the club now.

protest back to norm next match then?

I would have just ended this article after the 12th word.

Didn't Venky's statement on the site talk about having to sell to buy?
