Kean talks/blags transfer business

Rovers manager Steve Kean has told the fans that the club is actively trying to get some transfer business done with only days to go before the transfer window.

Rovers paid the price in the summer for dallying with their purchasing of new players in what hindsight dictates was a poor summer window.

With rumours rampant that Ewood's finest will need to operate a sell to buy policy Kean has come out to at least try to allay those fears.

Kean made a statement on the official Rovers site - 'We know we need to strengthen and that is what we are trying to do, as quickly as we can.'

'We have our targets, but we do not intend to discuss names or fees or budgets. We will do our business quietly and when there is something to announce then we will announce it.

'Supporters can rest assured that we are working around the clock to get some deals done.

'I have spoken at length to the owners and they are aware of the players we would like to sign.

'When we get some in and some of the injured lads out of the treatment room then I am sure we will be in a position to climb the table during the second half of the season.'

If this turns out to be the case great. If it doesn't... prepare for meltdown.

This is the right attitude. But then, it has to be followed through with action. The proof will - as always - be in the pudding.

Prepare for more financial rumours and snags and poor excuses along the way. I hope we do but I really can't see us nabbing 3-4 players in the first week or so.

"then I am sure we will be in a position to climb the table during the second half of the season." I love how we are always poised to climb the table yet all we ever do is sink like a stone. Why does Kean have to say anything like this at all. Again it just serves to increase expectation levels which no doubt will be dashed.

"judge me on my signings",heard it all before keano! We wont even play salgardo cause we cant afford to get out of stupid clause in his contract so who the hell do you expect us to sign?

now is the time to back Kean 100%. it is the owners fault that you are in this mess and your best and perhaps only course of action now should be to support your manager and the team.
