Not All Kean's Fault. Let's Not Kid Ourselves!!

Not All Kean's Fault. Let's Not Kid Ourselves!!

Steve Kean isn't a good manager (a coach perhaps) so a lot of Blackburn Rovers' problems can be placed at his door, however, are we naïve enough to blame him for all of our problems??

Under his managerial oversight the only way that it's likely that Rovers will go is down and relegation to the nPower Championship would cause us further problems, but the dude is being hung out to dry by people that I think need closer looking at with more questions asked of them!!

I recently wrote an article (Keep Digging Steve Kean!! Click Here) and one of the sections of it said the following: "I'm not a Kean fan, however, I was willing to give him a bit of time (even if I didn't really want to) but it's long since been obvious that the only way we're going under his management is down. The fact that Venky's seem happy with this is astonishing, which again leaves me seriously questioning their motives for wanting to be at Ewood Park?? I've got this horrible gut feeling that we could be faced with some problems down the line, maybe not too dissimilar to those faced by Portsmouth with some of their owners with questionable motives (that's for another time perhaps though??)"

So now I pick up on this point a little more. Are we missing the point here, what exactly are Venky's doing for Blackburn Rovers Football Club?? I'm thinking that it's more and more apparent that they're not actually doing a lot for us but we must be doing something for them.

The longer that they keep their puppet (Kean) in place the longer the damage that they are actually causing Rovers is being missed so with the full force of the anger from the supporters being directed at Kean it's being deflected away from them. Once they part company with Kean (and even they eventually would have no other option) who in their right mind would want to takeover as the next manager at Ewood Park with these dudes in charge (someone like Avram Grant would set further alarm bells ringing for me, not because I think he's a poor manager, which I think he is, more because he was turned to by clubs that were seriously struggling financially in the past, Portsmouth and West Ham United).

Whatever they're (Venky's) doing it's not in the best interests of this once great Football Club and I'd personally say that a little more attention should be paid to them and their motives with a little more of the vendetta (and some is warranted of course) against Kean reserved for them!!

You are right, its not ALL Keanes fault. He has less to work with than Allardyce, especially having lost Phil Jones and Jermaine Jones. Even with a bad manager, I doubt we would have been bottom of the premiership had they been playing. How many times have we lost by the single goal that those two would have been able to prevent. Think back to games such as Everton, surely we would have won that if even one of the Jones had still been with us. Other 'lost' squad players such as Emerton and even Keith Andrews (a better squad player than most fans realise) would have been available instead of some of the substitutions Keane has had to make.

Hi .. I havent been on in a long long time but as with most of you i have watched in anguish the club i support get ****ed up by Venkys!! I have to admit that Steve Kean came in with a excellent reputation as a coach BUT being a manager is a world apart and I think he must even realise this now ... he has been unlucky, we have been without Nelsen for, wot seems like a lifetime and as much as I love Samba, he isnt the same without the Admiral ... we have a very young attacking team which leaves us vunerable, but Kean doesn't seem the have the tactical nouse to compensate, although i agree that we are very short in midfield with the expereince needed to shut out games on the bench ... So i agree that 100% of the problems should lie at his door, I do believe that he should take the gentlemans way and leave, YEAH he may be able to turn it around, but I dont want to see that happening in the Championship ... Venkys surley have to shoulder a lot of the reponsibility here .. they seem to know nothing about football - ie: letting Williams go was THE mistake!! They need to get in a management team that can lead the club without this nonsense travelling to Pune every week!! VIDEO CALLING PEOPLE!!! I do think we have the squad to turn this around, up front we are actually quite scary .. though I would like to see Goodwillie more often and Petrovic!! N'zonzi hasnt been any great guns this season and needs the help in there!! we desperately need a leftback and a riteback, added to a loan for a good centreback now Dann is out ... i would like to see the New Man bring in a goal scoring striker .. Yak and Roberts are bustling strikers and will score goals but not the quanity that we need now .. we make chances we just need to get experience on and offthe pitch to see out some of these games where we are controlling and then, somehow, conspire to lose!! Rant over lol

Absolutely 100% agree with this - almost exactly what I have said in a couple of replies on the forum too! This isnt about Kean - not that I genuinely believe the guy is Premier League management material. But it IS about the people who picked him. With only coaching in his background who could possibly convince even a novice, an ignorant novice that it would be a good idea to select someone with NO experience as the manager??? Being assistant mgr or head coach is nowhere near the same thing (eg B Kidd) the manager has to make all kinds of difficult decisions on several key areas of club operations (the man with his C**k on the block as they say). So if you were a novice I would think you'd want someone VERY experienced who could spend a bit of time explaining to you what was going on and why - after a time you could then decide you wanted to do it all differently. Yet what we have here is an owner who has hopped straight into the driver's seat and put his clog down heading straight for the cliff edge - something's not right. All the people who tell us Venkys are no dummies are right too - you cannot make billions by accident. So while I normally hate bullsh#t conspiracy theories I can only say that something is very wrong here and I dont pretend to understand it so I cannot explain it but I can tell you I no longer believe that Venkys are just unfortunately making mistake after mistake and it's because they dont know any better. Maybe if some clown won 100 million in the euromillions lottery and decided "Hell, I'll buy the cheapest premier league club up for sale..." then it might make sense. We are being driven deliberately into the ground. Whatever we can do to influence Venkys into dispensing with BRFC should be well worth considering - taking it out on Kean might feel good but it wont get us anywhere.

Much of the issues with Kean however revolve around his delusional interviews and his somewhat confrontational nature to anyone that challenges him staying in his position (noting the response from Kean yesterday over whether he would be sacked). The facts are, apparently, according to Kean, that Venky's backed him with cash for every player that HE asked for in summer transfer window - if this is the case then we can add poor scouting ability to his list of CV howlers. He sees positives where there are none, and I believe he does this simply to try and put a positive spin when facing the owners.... which leads us to the true failings of Venkys - they are willing to allow a rank amateur to essentially decide the success of the club and business basing his 'success' on, more or less, MOTD soundbites. They have no-one here for the club, appoint a deputy chief exec who is deputy to ... no-one. There is no communication at all.... The fact is Venky's deserve as much flack as Kean is getting. You have to remember that Kean's linguistic shenanigans that we see in his post-match interviews are likely what convinced Venkys of his 'vision' to take the club forward in the first place.

All i have to say is that the protesters have made the club a disgrace with the way they have treated the manager, no matter how bad a manager he was. its a shame
22/12/2011 16:30:00
Yes, some of the protests have gone too far. Trailing a banner from an aircraft round and round the stadium DURING A MATCH, must have distracted the players. If those with such money to burn felt they had to do this, they should have had the good sense to restrict it to the 15 minutes of half time

In my opinion, supporters have a right to vent their anger if things go wrong. But this vendetta against your manager is harmful and damaging. A lot of your supporters seem to WANT the team to lose. What is the point of the team getting beaten and falling further down the league. Whatever the grievance---and it is obvious that there are BIG problems at your club-- everyone at the club INCLUDING the supporters must close ranks and make the home games an intimidating atmosphere for away teams. Nothing else will work---a new manager might be just as bad. Stick with the team guys. I wish all of you a Merry Christmas.......... A Swansea fan.

Venkys wont let go, Kean will stay as manager, the mess continues. We will almost certainly go down comes May. There's no way to stop the rot, unless Venkys decides to sell. We just keep plunging deeper and deeper into the shiiite. This club is in the wrong hands, dont know what the club did to deserve this shiiite.
