'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The end for Kean is nigh

It really can't get much worse right now.

After the depressing 2-1 defeat to Bolton that saw Rovers decide to actually play for a whole 25 minutes of the available hour and a half Rovers hit a new low.

Bottom at Christmas in a position that has seen only one side in donkeys years survive, with owners that don't seem to care and a manager whose last dalliance with reality is a distant memory.

The players apparently back the manager but played Bolton with all the motivation of an overweight drunk in a display that got what it merited again - nothing.

But with the pressure building and the situation at breaking point word is out that Steve Kean's job is finally in the balance and that the first in a long line of problems could finally be addressed as early as today.

Rumours are out that Venky's are lining up Mark Hughes as a short term replacement with Avram Grant and Dave Jones also in contention.

Throw into the mix that one of the strong sources around Ewood Park confirming that the hated Rovers boss is on his way with the major problem being convincing someone to takeover at the club when so much needs to be done to restore something close to normality.

Stay tuned because despite Kean's 'shocked if I get sacked' comments his job is nowhere near as safe as he would have you believe.

Fingers, toes, legs and arms are all crossed... Finally could we have something to cheer about...

Kevlar Kean will survive I fear... still, glued to my PC refreshing everything every 5 mins in the sheer hope that today is the day. SHortest day of the year, hope its the longest of his life

Sack him now. Although Sparky aside, those replacements don't fill me with any confidence. Jones and Grant, really?
*Dave*
Get rid of this clown now! I'm embarassed by him every time I see his stupid face.

I found it quite funny that he would be "shocked" if he got fired. Blackburn 20th with some of the players you possess is shocking not firing the person responsible for it. If anything that's understandable and reasonable.

I would be laughing.... but we've got Mcleish as manager! I feel your pain... from a Villan!

blackburn fans should be ashamed of the way they treat steve kean.the man has more gracious integrity than the oafs in the stand.the team is going thru a injury crisis and he is struggling to keep the club going. I know the majority of blackburn fans are decent football supporters but the clowns ( and i notice the chants only appear when a team scores against you )who are being abusive to kean are an embarassment to football.

Get sparky in now, the rest are pure rubbish. If venkys get this appointment wrong again, we are doomed for the championship. Even with sparky, we still need a dramatic change of fortunes in terms of results to hope for a West Brom style escape.

If you're not a supporter of rovers then you have no idea what we're going through so you have no opinion. Kean knew we were weak defensively what with Jones gone, Nelsen injured, only 1 genuine left back and an ageing right back but he waited until deadline day to sign one centre back. It's rude that he hasn't resigned. This plus a couple of hundred other reasons means he needs to go. We were behind him early in the season but he blew it. Please get shut of this idiot!
Citizen Kean
it cannot come any faster, but it's hard to imagine anyone quality would want to take up this mess and work with venkys.

I really hope this is the end of the road for Kean now, but we've been here before so I'm not going to get excited. Not before something actually happens. Oh, and I wish that supporters of other teams would kindly bugger off and mind their own business - such as Johnny above. They've no idea of what we've been through over the last 12 months or how desperate things have become.

Dear Santas. I know I havnt written to you for many years but I have been a very good boy this year. All I want is a new manager for blackburn. I know this alot to ask for but please I will not ask for anything else (bar maybe new owners, a right back, midfielder, a striker and a new contract for holliet) Happy christmas Mark

Avram Grant... relegation specialist! No way! I'd stick with Kean!
