Nzonzi banned for 3 matches

Steven Nzonzi has been banned for three matches after admitting a FA charge of violent conduct.

Nzonzi clashed with Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross and caught him in the face with an elbow.

The ban will start immediately with the midfielder out of tonight's Carling Cup game against Cardiff City.

I saw the incident, I didn't think it was intentional - but there you go. If you use an elbow then you get in trouble.

I'm not sure this is fair as it was hard to say it was intentional but he was asking for it the whole game, acting like a school boy at times. I've been a bit disappointed with his performances so far this season if i'm being honest. Without him playing well our midfield is pants.

If you go doing things like this then you are going to pay the consequences. Zonz can lose his head from what I have seen - it may be the kick up the backside he needs!
