Reports - Kean situation changing

Well one thing you can say for absolute certain is that it's never dull.

For the more eagle eyed observers amongst us may have noticed that some of the Venky's crew were at the DW stadium on Saturday afternoon to take in their sides battle with bottom side Wigan.

But things didn't really go according to the Rao family script.

First off, upon arrival in Wigan they were met by a small group of Rovers fans who barracked them with calls to leave and stinging criticisms before entering the ground.

Secondly, in the first half of the thrilling 3-3 draw where Rovers definitely got out of jail, they witnessed first hand the vitriol the majority of fans were pouring towards Kean and during the 45 minutes they did witness they saw Rovers being clearly second best first with 11 men and then with 10.

Finally, the Rao's left the match at half time for destination unknown and didn't return.

If you are Steve Kean that would appear very worrying even though his Rovers side did dig out a heroic point at the death.

This has all led to papers (lead by the Mirror) saying that Steve Kean is facing a 'grilling' today with some even going as far to say he could be relieved of his duties.

Before we all get excited though remember this - we have heard all this before and it's lead to nothing, I'll believe it when I see it.

One thing is for certain - Venky's have had their eyes opened.

I'll believe it when I see it is definitely the right line to end with. Hopes have been raised in the past for them to be quashed. You never know...he might be in talks to sign his new contract ;).

The amount of neutrals who have said to me - 'what a great match'... yep, but my blood pressure has taken a battering! I don't believe that Kean will be sacked today - he got an away point, team stuck together and he'll live to fight another day. I have heard, however, that Kean's new contract will give him more in salary, but will cut in half his compensation if he is sacked - until he signs that it will cost Venky's too much to sack him, I think that is why they are holding off at the moment.

Just sack the useless scot, yeah it may cost but as we climb up table we will earn more money at end of season anyway
Marcus:)
If this doesn't wake up the Venky's into realising how much trouble were in, then nothing ever will. They need to be made to realise what the club means to the supporters of Blackburn Rovers, it can't be treated like a play thing. It's time to leave Kean alone, and 'talk' directly to the Rao brothers about our beloved club. Once they realise what they've taken on, the Kean situation should resolve itself.

sacked.....

That last minute penalty, just gave Steve Cringe another reason to play the spirit abundance card.

Sacking Kean would be the second most glorious day in Rovers history to me, after the winning of the Primiership

All this is good stuff but remember that the Glazers have had this sort of treatment at United for ages and they've not budged. That last minute penalty may yet do more harm than good, given as how Kean now has a "result" to crow to the owners about.

There was talk today about giving kean a new contract with a lower release clause but higher salery! The G man would be nice as a replacement, but alas i think Chelsea will have him!

Ross mate man united are actually a high flying team though so it doest really matter that much were as were verging on relegation.
Marcus:)
