Release clause the key to Ibisevic switch?

Release clause the key to Ibisevic switch?

Rovers could very well get their number one January transfer target but on one special proviso.

It is understood that striker Vedad Ibisevic who currently plays for German side Hoffenheim

ould jump at the chance to play for Blackburn but only if he can have a 'relegation release' clause - which sounds like something straight out of Championship Manager.

Steve Kean and his merry band of co-workers tried for Vedad in the summer but were put off by his injury status and that delay proved to be the right move as the hitman has only just got back into the swing of things just recently.

But his short return to the fold in Germany has produced 3 goals and shows a striker with an eye for goal... something that the current crop of Rovers strikers seem to miss.

The Lancashire Telegraph is reporting - 'Vedad Ibisevic would be interested in a January move to Blackburn Rovers - but is seeking a relegation 'get-out` clause to tempt him to Ewood.

Rovers boss Steve Kean is plotting a new £3.5million move for the Hoffenheim striker, having failed to land him in the summer, but knows their current Premier League woe is in danger of putting him off a switch.'

Watch this one gather pace as we head towards the New Year.

Interesting. £3.5 million for a goalscorer of his age is not bad going...

No thanks. Move on. Another player from a foreign league with no "Premier League experience" as Kean said he wanted. Don't want him.

ah the old release clause! The issue that caused us a lot of fun with the Jones transfer and the Hoilett contract (allegedly!)

Get someone with prem league experience, we can't afford to lose the gamble. Premiership status at stake.

I think the amount of money spent in this window will reveal true intensions (bearing in mind league position, recent talks of a take over and 12 months of complete naivety). I’m sure I’m right in saying Venky’s made a profit in the summer transfer market. All that cash now needs to be available in the January window, plus the £5m which had already been promised, plus, if they are serious, extra funds to make sure incoming players have prem experience. Foreign players who won’t make an impact until March are just no good to us when we need results now. I’m thinking, all efforts on retaining the current squad, bring in Onuoha (on loan with a view to buy in the summer) and Defoe (buy, buy, buy!!). Or am I just in dream land?

Completely agree garethwds!2 signings that would have made a difference had they been pursued further in summer, and even more important now.
