'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A Personal View on the Situation at Rovers

Blackburn Rovers 2011/2012
Won 6 - Drawn 10 - Lost 16
Win percentage - 18.75%
The facts speak for them selfs.

I have been a Blackburn Rovers fan all my life and I can't remember a time when there has been so much animosity between fans, the manager and now the owners. Gone are the days when we could trust everyone involved in the club, we always new after the passing of the one and only Jack Walker the funds were never going to be as prominent as they once were, but we carried on and stuck in there safe in the knowledge we had people behind the scenes that wanted the best for the club and its fans.

11 years on, we have been bought by Indian owners [that don't seem to have a clue] there are marches, sit-ins and even planes being used to express the fans views. When will this end?! There are rumours that Venky's are willing to sell the club already, has this just been one big joke?! It feels like a really bad extended nightmare. Especially when you look back to when the takeover was announced and the new owners get quoted in saying 'We will absolutely respect the Jack Walker legacy and will be actively supporting the organisation to ensure that Blackburn Rovers remain one of the best-run clubs within the Premier League.'

As we continue to improve on the pitch a 0 - 1 defeat to Chelsea is nothing to be laughed at even in these uncertain times, but with our senior players dropping like fly's can we really make it through? Football is about results and we are being told week in week out they are coming [BUT WHEN STEVE, WHEN!]

Kean insisted: 'We are very confident that we are going to go on an unbeaten run very soon.

'I'm not being disrespectful to any other clubs but we always looked at the fixtures knowing we had a very tough run of games, then there were games we could target.

"It is certainly a good run of games and we look forward to them.'our next six games our vital we need points from all of these.

[sound familiar?]

Samba is the latest addition to the injury list along side V Grella, S Dann, M Salgado, R Nelson, all of these players have the experience and influence that is vital at this time. Sitting 19th in the table and with a first team that barely tops 23 can we survive?

There are now reports of Blackburn tracking Hoffenheim forward Vedad Ibisevic, another striker. I don't understand I really don't, yes we need goals we need them fast, but why are we spending money on players with no premier league experience, that once again will 'need time to adjust' I would love to see us go for a player like Defoe, someone who has experience, someone who can bring goals in the premier league, someone english with a reputation that the opposition sides fear. If Ibisevic comes, takes his 'time to adjust' the race for survival might already be out of reach. Is this another sign of a inexperienced manager? or is it another sign of someone [quietly] pulling the strings in the background? [hello, is that you Jerome??] At the same time buying strikers is all well and good but when our team is conceding 24 goals in 11 matches, how much use is he going to be?

In my opinion we need big change if we're going to pull through, we need a chairman who we can trust someone who wants the best for the club and who is experienced in the matters that they are faced with. A manager who admits defeat and has experience and we need players on the pitch that have experience and that want to play for the club.

Strange times at BRFC, strange times!

Favourite word of this post - Experience, as a general concept comprises knowledge of or skill in or observation of some thing or some event gained through involvement in or exposure to that thing or event [Interesting thought]
