'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A mile or so wide of the target

Rovers fans are in something of a kerfuffle today with strong rumours filtering through that Steve Kean is in line for a new contract.

Papers everywhere were reporting last night that a new deal was in place to 'reward' Steve Kean with a new deal that would increase his current rate of pay.

But, Venky's have been out this morning to explain that a new contract has not been agreed... yet.

A spokesperson for Venky's told the Lancashire Telegraph - 'There is no new contract signed yet.'

Nice and simple from the Indian owners but this is hardly likely to appease fans much simply because of the last word in that brief statement.

Yet implies that one is on it's way, yet implies that it's only a matter of time and yet implies that the Rao's have indeed lost what was left of their marbles.

It's a denial, but it's not much of one.

Oh dear God. I have never been as utterly despondent at seeing the word "yet" in print.

well credit to the team, their starting to look a lot more solid lately and hopefully we can get 3 points against wigan. If not then i i think its going to all crumble.

I think this is a good thing, he really deserves more money. Taxis arent cheap these days. I think i'm doing a good job. I mean Kean is doing a good job and we will go on a long unbeaten run and finish in the top 10.

Bloody Kean hacking into my computer account again. see above

LOL Dazzla73! Kean should be a politician - he lies, talks BS, does a lousy job and gets loads of money for it - then more!

His constant top 10 remarks are extremely annoying, we aint getting into the top 10. A new contract for a guy who is so bad at his job its unreal. He'll probably only get sacked when he starts winning games. Man, we aint never getting rid of him.
