The transfer targets emerge

The transfer targets emerge

Looks like the January transfer plans are starting to take a bit of shape with rumours coming around this morning that two players are on the 'hit list' to improve the squad in January.

First up is a familiar name - summer transfer subject Vedad Ibisevic. You may remember the young man from our long, drawn out summer activity. We were in for the striker before the move was vetoed due to concerns over his fitness levels... and ended up signing David 'Peak Condition' Goodwillie instead.

Anyways with a striker very much on the needed list Ibisevic is expected to be subject to a pursuit when business opens.

Meanwhile another name that has emerged is Barcelona B's Jonathan Dos Santos. Two interesting tid bits for this one -

1) Jonathan is the brother of Mexican and Tottenham short arse Giovani.

2) He players in the same side that we got Ruben Rochina from last January.

Jonathan is a midfielder who fits the bill as a 'quality, young signing' and has a good pedigree about him as you would expect from someone on the fringes of the Barcelona main squad.

Jonathan was one of the eight Mexican players sent home from the Copa America for dabbling with prostitutes.

A scandal monger at Rovers? He'll fit in a dream.

Two main targets needed for January in my mind - Striker and proper cover for right back.

Yea totally agree. I think were well covered in the attacking midfield area. Poss need to look at someone to sit along side the zonz as question marks about petrovic atm still.

Ibisevic has only made 3 appearances this season, obviously recovering from the injury which saw him passed over in the summer. However he has scored 3 times! Can't argue with that ratio :P!

Hmm maybe cover for Hoilett if he leaves already there - this dos santos guy might fit the bill

what you guys need are a few bread and butter fighters, but your owners seem intent on bring in that box office superstar that I doubt will even happen as things stand. I think you are no where near as bad as your league position indicates and with a couple of decent and reliable signings either permanaent or on loan and you could well be safe this season and live to fight another day.

I think Rovers will go for loan signings again. Not sure the owners will be spending big money on signings. Biggest problem is who will be available. This is going to be a long long wait til last day of January, when no doubt this will be the day we will sign anyone. Id like to a good striker come in. Centre midfield I think were 1 short as well.

While I want us to get some new faces in during January, and yes I hope we're better prepared than we were for the last window, there's half a dozen games that need winning between now and then. Surely the focus should be there!

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
